The model

How ADWI Finance is set up

Together with a local accounting firm, ADWI Finance is building its own organisation in Bali. There we select, train and supervise qualified finance professionals according to Dutch quality standards.

From our offices in Zoetermeer and Hoorn we handle management and the contract. You sign one agreement with our Dutch B.V. and have one point of contact. You never deal with a foreign contract.

Your colleague works in the Dutch night and early morning, because Bali is 6 or 7 hours ahead of the Netherlands. What you hand over yesterday is processed before your team starts. In the Dutch morning we agree fixed overlap hours in which your team can ask questions.

The ADWI Academy

Dutch accountancy, from A to Z

Every colleague completes the ADWI Academy before starting at your firm. The Academy has sixteen modules, each with an exam, twelve case studies and a final exam of 100 questions. Only colleagues who pass the final exam are placed with a firm.

  • Dutch accounting rules, annual accounts and VAT legislation
  • Twelve case studies with a client file, a working paper and questions; the later ones with a written assignment that ADWI marks
  • Dutch work culture and business communication

How we handle your data

Confidential financial data requires certainty. Your data stays in the systems of your own firm and we put clear agreements in writing.

  • Your data stays in the systems of your own firm. Your colleague works in your firm’s software and nothing is copied to ADWI systems.
  • A data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses (SCCs) are concluded before the cooperation starts.
  • Module 0 Security Awareness: every colleague passes this module before starting.
  • We work according to the ISO 27001 standard.

Frequently asked questions

Questions firms ask us

Is this outsourcing?

You get a permanent colleague who works only for your firm and is part of your team, not loose tasks handled elsewhere. How the cooperation is set up legally is recorded in the agreement and the data processing agreement.

Do your colleagues speak Dutch?

Your colleague works in your firm’s own software and talks to your team in English. Your colleague has no contact with your clients. Dutch receipts and invoices are no problem: the Academy teaches the Dutch bookkeeping terms.

What about the time difference and working hours?

Bali is 6 or 7 hours ahead of the Netherlands. Your colleague therefore works in the Dutch night and early morning. What you hand over yesterday is processed before your team starts. In the Dutch morning we agree fixed overlap hours in which your team can ask questions.

How is quality assured?

Every colleague first passes the ADWI Academy: sixteen modules (module 0 to 15, of which Module 0 is Security Awareness), each with an exam, twelve case studies (module 2 to 13; the later ones with a written assignment that ADWI marks) and a final exam of 100 questions with a pass mark of 80%. After that, our team lead in Bali supervises the daily work, with quality control from our own office in Bali and from the Netherlands.

What security do I get if it does not work out?

We offer a trial month. If the colleague is not a good fit for your firm, we replace them free of charge. We also offer a short notice period in the first year. The exact terms are in the quotation.

Is ADWI Finance ISO 27001-certified?

No. We work according to the ISO 27001 standard. Your data also stays in the systems of your own firm.

How quickly will I have my first colleague?

Usually within 21 days of the introduction, including selection and getting started in your software and working methods.

Am I tied in for years?

No. You sign one agreement with our Dutch B.V. We offer a trial month and a short notice period in the first year. The duration and the notice period are in the quotation.
